Hand-beaded journals

So I am taking it to the next level. By that I mean that I have hand-beaded my journals. I took simple Moleskine journals and just added beads. They are fun! Check them out:

They are available in my shop.

My latest journal and Dave's digital work

I just listed a journal today in my shop. It is a new cover design of abstract flowers. I added two beads to the bookmark of this journal. I chose a round green bead and a flatter red bead. I figured the round echoed the shape of the flower and the flat echoed the shape of the leaves. Further, the red symbolized the flower petals, while the green symbolized the leaves and stems.

I also recently listed a piece of my husband's digital art. I like this piece a lot for it's vibrant colors.

New products

So in working towards the flea market, I came up with some new items for my shop and I updated other items in my shop.

I finally created my beer-themed envelopes and I added labels to all my upcycled envelopes. I used 100% recycled Kraft labels on my envelopes, keeping in theme with the eco-friendliness. Check them out:

And of course, if you'd like to purchase them please visit my online shop.

Working hard toward the flea market tomorrow!

Tomorrow I will be at the Brooklyn Flea Market in Fort Greene! I have worked all morning finishing up some inking of journals, beading bookmarks and organizing everything. Wish me good luck for tomorrow!

This is my latest journal design:

I'm sick

I really don't like being sick. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and it hasn't gotten any better. I even had a low fever yesterday. boo. The worst part about being sick is that I think back to everything I've done in the past week and wonder who is guilty of making me sick! I suspect everyone! I can remember every cough, sniffle or moan in the recent past and I blame absolutely everyone for my malaise!

My parents were here visiting for all of last week and we had a great time. I got to see the city through the eyes of a tourist, which is always enjoyable.

This coming Sunday I will be vending at the Brooklyn Flea Market (located on a lot at Lafayette and Vanderbilt Avenue in Fort Greene) as part of the New York Etsy Street Team. If you're near Brooklyn stop by! I have to get my stock up for the market so even though I'm sick, I can't exactly rest.

I spent all day yesterday inking and beading journals from bed. I worked on new cover designs for my journals and this is one of them:

Diary 2009

I recently submitted my pages for Diary 2009, a project in which several artists sign up to design a page in an agenda for 2009. I was assigned two pages and of course like the procrastinator I am, I waited until the deadline to submit them. I'm happy with how they turned out. Check them out:
